The Resort Baan Gong Kham is just a juwel and we don’t know if we should recommend it because we don’t want to find it outbooked when we are going to Chiang Mai – and that means to Baan Gong Kham - next time. It is a small resort ; beside the guesthouse it has 4 houses in lanna style, each house with two floors, terrasse or balcony, looking on a small beautyful garden which is nurtured by Beer, the very charming and attentive host. But before booking the Resort one should know that it is about 2 km away from the city of Chiang Mai. That means you have either to rent a motorbike or need a tuk-tuk or a taxi each time you want to go to the city (one way = 150 Baht). The only restaurant near to it – just on the other side of the street - is a very exyclusive one, «Le Crystal», with an excellant french Cuisine but of course the prices are in the same range (about 10-20 times higher than a thai restaurant), not just a place a family likes to go every day.
